I've been living in the Netherlands for 5 years now, and along the way I picked up my HBO-ICT diploma from Fontys, in Infrastructure & Cyber Security. I'm eager and very determined, I pick things up fast, and I tend to notice the small details others walk past.

What I do

Most of my free time goes into my homelab: a small server at home running my own versions of everyday apps, like photo backup, network-wide ad-blocking and much more, each in its own container. It's where I try things out and learn. The DevOps side of things (building, running and keeping systems up, plus CI/CD, which means automatically testing and rolling out changes) I picked up through a mix of school and teaching myself.

Lately I've also been building AI automations: little helpers that take boring, repetitive tasks off my hands. When I'm not tinkering, it's movies, series and video games.

On the work side, I've watched for security alerts on the team at the Eindhoven Security Hub, and interned with the security testing team at Rabobank, where I looked into how AI could take repetitive work off their plate.

Why this site?

It started as a school portfolio in late 2022 to keep track of what I learned each semester. My teachers and peers liked it, so I kept working on it and eventually revamped it. Now it's the place where I show what I've built and learned.

The design is inspired by the Linux terminal, and the site is built with nothing but HTML, CSS & JavaScript. I believe a personal website should be simple, no complex frameworks needed. These days people use a whole SaaS-style framework for a personal website, which is a bit overkill if you ask me.
